Lake Louisa State Park and Corvettes

posted in: Florida | 12

This week brought us to Lake Louisa State Park for a short hike. This park has 4,500 acres with six lakes and two streams. We saw a couple fishing and there was an alligator close by. John asked if they had problems with the alligator taking their fish. They weren’t real talkative and just said, “no”. So that ended that conversation. We walked around the usual flat trails and got a chance to drive around the campground as well. It looked like a nice place to camp although nothing compared to the campgrounds in Maine.

The big event for Friday night was Cruise Night with the Corvettes. There were corvettes of all years. My favorite was the one with the tigers on the car. Every night at the three main villages is happy hour from 5-6. All drinks are 2 for 1 and there is a band playing as well. Tonight was a 70’s band playing while we strolled around looking at the corvettes. Of course instead of a drink, I opted for a Haagen-Dazs cookie dough ice cream Definitely a good choice.

Larry, That is why we are in Florida. Don’t like the sounds of the weather back home.

  3. Great photos! Here is test for you:

    Bathtub Test

During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, “How do you
determine whether or not an older person should be put in a Nursing Home?”

“Well,” he said, “we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub.”

“Oh, I understand,” I said. “A normal person would use the
bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.”

“No” he said. “A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?”
